The Telecommunication Engineering Center is a part of telecom commission and the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India which is responsible for drawing up of Standards, Interface Requirements, Generic Requirements, Service Requirements and Specifications for Telecom Products, Services and Networks.
Telecommunication equipment refers to the hardware that is used mainly for telecommunications such as transmission lines, multiplexers, etc. It includes hardware like Router, 2-Wire telecom, Modem, G3 Fax Machine, ISDN CPE, Telecom equipment covered under GCS(Cordless Telephone and PABX).
Now, Telecommunications equipment are needed to be tested and certified as per TEC guidelines from 1st October 2019.
