BIS QCO FOR HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Polyethylene High-Density (PEHD) is a strong thermoplastic polymer made from ethylene monomers.High-density polyethylene is used in the production of fertilizer packaging. The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals has issued an official notification for Textiles High Density Polyethylene Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers Indian Standard IS 9755:2021, covering  woven sacks for fertilizer packaging. This applies to bags of 45 kg for neem coated urea and 50 kg bags for other types of urea, whether locally manufactured or bulk imported and repacked. 

The adoption date of these regulations is pending, but once enacted, they will become effective within six months. Stakeholders and interested parties have 60 days from the date of this notification to provide comments and feedback.
