BIS has published three significant Indian Standards in the area of electronics.

BIS has developed quality standards for electronic devices: digital television receivers, USB type C chargers, and video surveillance systems (VSS). IS 18112 for Digital TV Receivers with Satellite Turners, IS/IEC 62680 (Part 1/Sec 3) for USB Type-C Chargers, and a series of Standards IS 16910 for Video Surveillance Systems were published.

The Bureau of Indian Standards has issued an Indian Standard IS 18112:2022 Specification for televisions with built-in satellite tuners. TVs manufactured as per this Indian standard would be able to receive Free-To-Air TV and Radio channels by simply connecting a dish antenna to an LNB mounted on an appropriate location, such as a building's rooftop or side wall. This would make it easier to transmit information about government initiatives, programmes, Doordarshan educational content, and a collection of Indian culture programmes to a large segment of people across the country.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued Indian Standards USB Type-C ports. The Indian standard IS/IEC 62680-1-3:2022 specifies the requirements for USB Type-C ports, plugs, and cables for use in various electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptop computers, notebook PCs, and others. This standard would enable common charging solutions for cell phones and other electronic devices.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued Indian Standards (IS 16910) for Video Surveillance Systems for security applications. The standard specifies guidelines for efficient system installation. It provides a complete outline of all parts of a Video Surveillance System, such as requirements for its components such as camera devices, interfaces, system requirements, and tests to determine camera device picture quality.
