ISI Mark Certification for High strength Aircraft Plywood IS 4859

In accordance with BIS IS 4859: 1968 ISI Mark is Mandatory for High strength aircraft plywood. This Indian Standard gives the requirements, sampling procedure and test methods for High strength aircraft Plywood to be used in critical aircraft structures and other aerospace applications where high mechanical properties of the product are required. The standard sets the quality indicators, including the dimensions, thickness tolerances, quality of veneer, bond strength, density, moisture content and mechanical parameters (tensile strength, compressive strength and bending strength), and guarantees the outstanding structural reliability. IS 4859:1968 specifies careful selection of timber veneers and high-performance adhesive system to ensure the strength to weight ratio is high and at the same time give durability in harsh operating conditions. The key focus of the standard is on quality manufacturing controls, and extensive testing protocols to ensure resistance to delamination, dimensional change, vibration and mechanical stresses experienced in aircraft service. This also covers marking, packing and labelling to enable identification, traceability and verification of compliance. High strength aircraft plywood, certified by Bureau of Indian Standards under IS 4859:1968, guarantees adherence to national quality and performance standards, providing a solid foundation for safety, durability, and meeting the stringent demands of aerospace and other high-performance engineering fields.
