WHAT IS WORLD MANUFACTURER IDENTIFIER (WMI) CODE?
WMI is an acronym for World Manufacturer Identifier. The World Manufacturer Identifier is the first three characters of the VIN that uniquely identify the vehicle's manufacturer (WMI).

A VIN (vehicle identification number) is a unique serial number used by the automotive industry to identify individuals to motor vehicles."
To uniquely identify their vehicles, automobile manufacturers around the world utilize a numbering system known as the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).VIN stands for Vehicle Identification Number. Except for the letters I, O, and Q, it is made up of a 17-character number that uniquely identifies the vehicle. It's usually referred to as a chassis number or a frame number.
The first three characters of the VIN uniquely identify the vehicle's manufacturer, the Vehicle Descriptor component of the VIN is 4 to 9 letters, and the last eight characters are the Vehicle Indicator Sector. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) system is now based on two related standards ISO 3779 and ISO 3780.
