HOW TO OBTAIN ECO MARK LICENSE? The process to obtain the license to use the Eco Mark is as follows: Application Submission: An application in the prescribed form, duly completed and accompanied by the required fee, may be submitted to the Bureau's appropriate office for acceptance, acknowledgement, and further action. Preliminary Inspection: The Bureau schedules a preliminary inspection of the applicant's unit on a mutually convenient date after receiving the completed application form for preliminary inspection and assessment of the applicant's manufacturing and quality control facilities, as well as the availability of testing personnel for satisfactory operation of the BIS Certification Mark Scheme for a product for which the application has been submitted to the Bureau. Sample drawn: Inspection officers from the Bureau take samples for factory testing and independent testing to see if the product fits the specifications' requirements, including the Eco Mark requirements. Verification of test report: The preliminary inspection (PI) report, independent test results of samples taken during the PI, and acceptance of the STI and marking fee schedule are all checked at the appropriate level within the Bureau. Grant of license: If all documents are complete and sufficient, the BIS authority issues a licence to the unit, allowing it to use the Bureau's standard mark for a specified period. The licence is initially granted for one year, extendable for two years at a time, and is renewed annually based on the unit's performance of the preceding year.
