BIS Certification for Shade Nets Made from Tape Yarns and Mono Filament Yarns

Shade nets are used in agriculture and horticulture to meet the various needs of crops. BIS certification for Shade Nets is required to ensure that shade nets comply with specified Indian standards and use the standard mark.

IS 16008 (Part 1):2016 Specify the specifications and performance requirements for agricultural and horticultural shade nets made from tape yarn. IS 16008 (Part 2):2016 specify specification and performance requirements for shade nets made from mono filament yarn. All shade nets must comply with Indian standards and bear the Standard ISI Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards.

To use a standard ISI mark, all shade net manufacturers must obtain a BIS Certification for shade nets from the Bureau of Indian Standards. A BIS license is granted to the manufacturer to use the standard ISI mark on their product and sell it in the Indian market. The Bureau of Indian Standards will grant a license only after confirming that the product complies with Indian standards.

In order to obtain a BIS licence for shade nets, the manufacturer must submit an application through the BIS portal. After submitting the application, BIS officials will conduct application scrutiny and audit of the manufacturing premises. Samples will be tested to ensure that the product complies with Indian standards. If the shade nets meet Indian standards, the Bureau will grant a BIS licence to the manufacturer.
