Bis Certification for Ferrules for Water Services
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has formulated a specific standard, IS 2692:1989 for ferrules for use in water services. This standard makes sure that ferrules – a key part in water supply connections – are made to the quality and durability required to withstand water pressure and prevent leaks. With this standardisation defined, all manufacturers of ferrules for water services will have to secure certification from BIS to sell their products in the Indian market. The certification ensures that the ferrule meet the safety, performance and quality requirements as specified by BIS. In addition, every licensed ferrule shall carry the ISI Mark, to reflect their compliance with the national standard and strengthen consumer confidence.
