BIS CERTIFICATION FOR AIR CONDITIONERS (AC) AND ITS RELATED PARTS

The air conditioner market is steadily growing. As per QCO issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Air Conditioner and its related Parts, Hermetic Compressor, and Temperature Sensing Controls must comply with the corresponding Indian standard and bear the Indian Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standard (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards made it mandatory to obtain a BIS license for Air conditioners to use the standard ISI mark. The Bureau grants a BIS license to the manufacturer for the product that complies with Indian standards. All manufacturers must obtain a BIS license for Air conditioners and their related parts to use the ISI mark.
