Bis Certification For Ferrochromium
Ferrochromium is an essential alloy used primarily in the production of stainless steel, which provides corrosion resistance and increased durability. BIS, the standards-setting body of the Government of India, has set the standard IS 1170:1992 for ferrochromium. Manufacturers must obtain BIS certification under this standard to sell their ferrochromium products. Selling ferrochromium without the ISI mark or BIS certification is a punishable offence.
