Bis Certification For Ferronickel
BIS has developed a new standard for ferronickel, a ferroalloy used in the production of stainless steel and other alloys. Ferronickel is smelted in AC furnaces into circular or rectangular shapes from calcined nickel oxide, which contains about 35% nickel and 65% iron.
To sell ferronickel in the Indian market with the standard ISI mark, all manufacturers must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. Aleph India, the leading BIS Consultant in India, recently assisted M/S Falconbridge Dominicana, S.A company in obtaining BIS certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards.
Under ISI certification scheme, all the essential requirements of ferronickel are met, based on BIS IS standard IS 4409:2023. These certifications are critical to managing the performance, quality and applicability of ferronickel for various uses, allowing manufacturers to meet specific requirements, reduce expenses, ensure compliance, and support safety and environmental regulations.
