Compliance also requires the prominent display of the Standard Mark, achievable only through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. It is crucial to note that the Order does not extend its application to goods or articles produced domestically for export purposes. However, for micro and small enterprises, as categorized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, the Order becomes effective twelve months and nine months from the date of publication, respectively. In the realm of certification and enforcement, the Bureau of Indian Standards has been designated as the authoritative body for Helmets for Police Force, Civil Defence, and Personal Protection covered by this Order.
