BIS CERTIFICATION FOR CAUSTIC SODA
At the industrial level caustic soda is used in various applications such as manufacturing of pulp and paper, soap and detergent, alumina, etc and it is also used in the petroleum and chemical productions.
Caustic Soda is categorized under the Indian Standard IS 252: 2013 to be tested and certified as per the specified parameters by the Bureau of Indian Standards (Govt. of India).
Hence, the manufacturers of foreign who want to sell their related products in India, have to get BIS Certification under the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS).
How to get ISI Mark Certification in India ?
The ISI Mark for the products is granted only after the completely testing of the product under the any of the BIS approved laboratory. The product should be confirmed at every specified standard.
Who will be the AIR?
The AIR shall be an Indian resident and he shall declare his consent to be responsible for compliance to the provisions of the BIS Act, Rules and Regulations and Terms & Conditions laid down in BIS Licence, Agreement, Undertaking etc. by or on behalf of the foreign manufacturer or a senior person of the branch/office shall be nominated as the AIR. In case, there is no such branch / office established in India or till it is established in India, the foreign manufacturer shall nominate an AIR in the prescribed format.
