Description

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has notified that the manufacturers/importer of the products which comes under the range of the Compulsory Registration Order (CRO) must have registration number under Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) as per BIS. A scanner is an electronic device that is used to capture the images from Photographic Prints, Posters, Magazine Pages, and similar sources for computer editing and display. It copies a picture in digital form and after capturing the image, it transfers the data into the computer. For the purpose of safety the manufacturers and importers of scanner are required to test and certify their products under the CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) before they sell their products into the Indian Markets. The consumer should ensure that the scanner they are using, is certified under the CRS or not.
