Bis Standard For Ec Grade Aluminium Rod Produced By Continuous Casting And Rolling The Indian Bureau of Standards (BIS) has set the standard IS 5484:1997 for EC Grade Aluminium Rods obtained through the continuous casting and rolling method. This standard concerns aluminium rods which are electrical conductors owing to their strength and high conductivity. The standard provides specifications including the chemical composition, mechanical properties, electric resistivity, and physical dimensions which are essential for poles to be reliably consistent in performance over a wide range of electrical uses. With the adoption of IS 5484:1997, manufacturers of EC Grade Aluminium Rods have issued contracts to obtain BIS certification which ensures the rods are compliant with the parameters set out by BIS. This mark confirms that the rods comply with the reliability and soundness benchmarks set out by BIS and provides assurance of their safe utilization within power transmission and distribution frameworks. In addition, all certified EC Grade Aluminium Rods are issued an ISI Mark, indicating compliance with Indian Standards, which provides confidence to manufacturers, contractors, and end-users that the product meets the expected standards.
